About the Ford Foundation Fellowships
The Ford Foundation provides support for individuals through specific fellowship programs, most notably the Ford Global Fellowship. These initiatives are designed to connect and support the next generation of social justice leaders who are working to challenge inequality in all its forms.
The foundation operates with a focus on global impact, maintaining offices across various regions including the United States, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Their fellowship programs are part of a broader strategy to invest in people who are driving systemic change in their communities and beyond.
While the specific International Fellowships Program is a historical component of the foundation's work, current opportunities are primarily channeled through the Ford Global Fellowship. This program brings together a diverse cohort of fellows to share knowledge, build networks, and strengthen their capacity to influence social change.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the foundation's core mission areas, which include civic engagement, disability rights, gender and racial justice, and the future of work. The fellowship structure emphasizes peer learning and collaborative problem-solving among participants from different geographic and professional backgrounds.
