About MBBS in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan offers three WHO-recognized English-medium MBBS programs for international students in 2026: Nakhchivan State University (NSU) in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) in Baku (est. 1930, the oldest dedicated medical university in the country), and Khazar University in Baku (est. 1991, private). NSU and AMU are both government universities; NSU and AMU are also ECFMG listed.
For Pakistani students: No IELTS, no MDCAT required at any of the three universities, FSc Pre-Medical with 60%+ qualifies. Indian students: NEET is mandatory (NMC rule) at all three. Bangladeshi students: SSC + HSC with PCB qualifies directly. Fees range from $3,500/year (NSU) to $7,000/year (Khazar).
